Design With Karl is a one-person studio. That’s not a modest way of saying “small team” — there is no team. Every package on this site is scoped, designed, and delivered by me, from the first sketch to the final handoff.
I built it this way on purpose. The studios doing the kind of work I wanted to do tend to hide their pricing behind a contact form and a sales call — reasonable for a ten-person studio managing dozens of active clients, and unnecessary for one designer running a defined process. So the process is defined: five packages, five prices, a written scope before anything starts, two revision rounds built in, and a refund ladder you can read before you ever pay a deposit.
Working with one person, directly, has a real tradeoff: I can only take on so many projects at a time, and if I’m not the right fit for what you need, I’ll say so instead of taking the booking anyway. What you get in exchange is a project where the person who scoped it is the same person who designs it — no hand-off, no account manager translating between you and whoever’s actually doing the work.

How I work
- I work on a limited number of projects at a time, on purpose — not because it sounds exclusive, but because quality drops the moment it’s not true.
- Every project starts with a written scope document, not a verbal understanding of one.
- I default to plain language over jargon, in scope documents and in conversation.
- If a project isn’t a good fit for what I do, I’ll tell you before you pay a deposit, not after.
- Revisions are a built-in part of the process, not a negotiation that happens after you’re unhappy.
