Challenge
A hypothetical logistics company’s internal dashboard — dispatchers tracking shipments, drivers, and delays across dozens of screens. The brief: design a dashboard dense enough to be genuinely useful, and a design system rigorous enough that new screens wouldn’t need to be redesigned from scratch every time a feature shipped.
Approach
The product design started with the dispatcher’s actual workflow — what they check first, what they check constantly — under the Product Engagement scope. Once the core screens were designed, the recurring patterns (status tags, data tables, alert states) were extracted into a documented component library, then tested by rebuilding two of the dashboard’s screens using only the system.
Outcome
A full dashboard surface and a component library that generated two of its own screens — the actual test of whether a design system holds up under real product weight.
